It's that time of year again, the school auction......class art projects need to be made and auctioned off. This year the 5th graders are going to be learning about Mandalas. They are going to draw their own mandala and trace it onto a square of copper to emboss. The embossed piece will be brushed with a sulfer product to cause a patina. The patina'd Mandalas will then be attatched to a pine frame that will become a border for a chalkboard. This should be a little more hands on for the 5th graders and also appeal to some of the kids who don't feel like they are the best drawers. These projects are usually time consuming but I must confess, I just love doing them!

2012! Happy New Years

Happy New Years! I'm starting the year off with blogging. I havn't been on here in a year or so.....I'm overdue :-)
2011 brought fourth many changes. I started my own business Artseadesigns! I've incorporated all of the things I love to do. Mural painting, faux finishes, cabinet refacing, custom wood burned and painted calendars and art pieces and pet portraits. I couldn't tell you which was my favorite, but I can tell you painting is my passion. I feel so blessed to share this passion with people.
So, that being said I am hopeful for a successful 2012. I look forward to the challanges and change that are coming. I'm learning to accept change as it is essencial for our growth.
I'm excited about the goals and dreams the Besedics as a family share.. I am so grateful for the love of my family and friends. Many many blessings to you and yours in 2012!

ok so this is my attempt to start blogging.....am jonesing to paint some flowers, hibiscus maybe w/ some art deco colors....need to get the brushes out...see this blogging is time consuming :)

December St. Pete

This is a picture of Christine & I meeting up in St. Pete yesterday! Christine is an incredible pet portrait artist & teacher. We did a pet portrait exchange and she painted a beautiful oil painting of Vinny! What a great way to end 2009 meeting a wonderful new art guru :)
